Fluid Systems Engineer

Description:
Primary purpose of role
Perform 1-D fluid system (air, oil and fuel) analysis of gas turbine engines, components, and subsystems. Provide direction in diagnosis of thermally-induced engine and/or component problems.
Key responsibilities and deliverables (max 6)
1. Perform 1-D fluid system (air, oil and fuel) of gas turbine engines, components, and subsystems. Review analysis progress with supervision before release. Report status to supervision regularly. 2. Coordinate work with interfacing design and project engineers. Provide timely system/component design and validation testing recommendations. 3. Report analysis results and recommendations through technical data reports (TDRs) and inter-office memoranda (IOMs). 4. Provide internal flow and bearing thrust load results to users in a timely and clear manner. 5. Prepare and deliver flow and thermal analysis results at formal and informal design reviews.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or Equivalent. Minimum of 3-5 years experience with 1-D fluid system analysis software. Familiarity with CAD modeling software. Familiarity with CFD results and software. Demonstrated advanced problem solving ability and understanding of thermal and fluid system physics. High level interpersonal skills and ability to produce high quality, accurate and concise written communication. Able to function in a high impact team environment.
