Description:
1)
Job Description: Technology Architect to work in a team to develop a prototype model server communication protocol based on version 4 of the EPICS Channel Access Protocol which implements PVData structures natively in the Channel Access Protocol. This position also includes review of the data stuctures that are used to imlement the model based control in a client/server architecture.The initial goal is for the team to produce a Python and Jave Client to support high level applications. It must also support a C/C++ based server to provide a binding to the Tracy 3 and Elegant models.
Qualifications Required: Requires a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics. The job requires an expert in the client/server protocols implemented over TCP/IP and UDP. A complete understanding of robust communication implementations is required. Intimate familiarity with TCP/IP and UDP protocols is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to clearly communicate and work productively in a team setting.
Qualifications Preferred: Knowledge of EPICS and accelerator control. Knowledge of RTEMS, vxWorks, Linux, and model based control.

Job Description: Technology Architect to improve and complete the preliminary design document.Work with the NSLS II power supply control staff to complete the requirements description, the external interface description, device desription, and control system block diagram for the storage ring power supplies.
Qualifications Required: Requires a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics. The job requires an expert in process control that includes issues facing the integration of power supplies: such as: power supply regulation, digitizers, synchronous DAC control. Control system architecture experience is required. Project engineering experience is required. Experience producing engineering design, prototypes, and project execution in industrial control is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to clearly communicate and work productively in a team setting.
Qualifications Preferred: Knowledge of EPICS and accelerator control. Knowledge of RTEMS, vxWorks, FPGA integration, integrating hardware into EPICS, is desired..

Job Description: Technology Architect to implement the EPICS driver to communicate to the ACS control system. Determine the interface that is to be used for the ACS, write the driver to integrate ACS into EPICS, bench mark the communication, and implement diagnostics to demostrate the quality of the communication.
Qualifications Required: Requires a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics. The job requires an expert in driver implementation in a real time operating system environment. Control system architecture experience is required. Project engineering experience is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to clearly communicate and work productively in a team setting.

Work with the NSLS II vacuum control staff to complete the requirements description, the external interface description, device desription, and control system block diagram for the storage ring diagnostics. After the completion of the preliminary design document, support the development of the storage ring vacuum prototype to determine the final architecture and support the completion of the final design document.
Qualifications Required: Requires a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics. The job requires an expert in vacuum controls and the use of vacuum in a large facility. Control system architecture experience is required. Project engineering experience is required. Experience producing engineering design, prototypes, and project execution in particle accelerators is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to clearly communicate and work productively in a team setting.
Qualifications Preferred: EPICS experience. Accelerator control experience. Knowledge of RTEMS, vxWorks, Allen-Bradley PLC programming, and drivers for Allen-Bradley PLCs.

Work with the NSLS II diagnostics control staff to complete the requirements description, the external interface description, device desription, and control system block diagram for the storage ring diagnostics. After the completion of the preliminary design document, support the development of the storage ring diagnostics prototype to determine the final architecture and support the completion of the final design document.
Qualifications Required: Requires a B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics. The job requires an expert in the deployment of high speed, low latency, high accuracy analog to digital converters, and their use in diagnostics controls. Control system architecture experience is required. Project engineering experience is required. Experience producing engineering design, prototypes, and project execution in a large process control system is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to clearly communicate and work productively in a team setting.
Qualifications Preferred: Knowledge of EPICS and accelerator control. Knowledge of RTEMS, vxWorks, camera control, oscilloscopes, high speed digitizers, beam position monitors, beam loss monitors and all high speed diagnostics are preferred.

The job requires an expert in timing system application, and the use of timing system control for distributed, synchronous control. Control system architecture experience is required. Project engineering experience is required. Experience producing engineering design and project execution in particle accelerators is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to clearly communicate and work productively in a team setting.
Qualifications Preferred: Knowledge of the Micro Research Timing system, accelerator control, and EPICS.
