Description:
Located at Petrochemical Refineries (Oil and Gas) throughout California (San Francisco, East Bay, Central Valley, Los Angeles, etc.)
The Job:
• Supervise and monitor all construction activity
• Work closely with construction contractor to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and schedule
• Work with the owners, architects, general contractors, estimators, subcontractors, and other building consultants
• Coordinate work activities with material requirements and availability with other disciplines and with overall project schedule
• Identify and coordinte resolution of engineering issues
• Meet owner requirements for function, quality, completion time, and budget

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant construction experience in one or more of petrochemical, refinery, highways, buildings and facilities, airports, bridges, rail, water/wastewater, inspection, scheduling, and/or cost estimating industries
• Knowledge of construction sequencing and or scheduling
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings
• Ability to write construction work scopes

  CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER - Electrical & Instrument
Description:
Located at Petrochemical Refineries (Oil and Gas)throughout California (San Francisco, East Bay, Central Valley, Los Angeles, etc.)

Design and inspect electrical, mechanical, piping, instrument, and logic control systems. Located in El Segundo, CA, 90245 (Southern California)

The Job:
• Design control panels; I&C racks; one-line, three-line P & ID’s; control instrumentation; elementary, loop, wiring, and riser diagrams, including pneumatic & hydraulic diagrams
• Specify gauges, sensors and transducers for temperature, pressure, vacuum, flash point analysis, combustion, power quality, level, index, CNC, speed, proximity, strain, load, density, viscosity, turbidity, petroleum haze, flow, purity, PH, conductivity, particulates, and humidity
• Prepare instrument data sheets, logic diagrams, control system specifications, loop diagrams, pneumatic instrument installation details, analyzer, custody metering, loading/unloading, in-line instruments, flare system, security system, fire alarm system and tank farm
• Design process control systems and state of the art instrumentation. Oversee design and drafting of instrument loop diagrams, instrument plans, installation details. Engineer PLC and/or DCS systems, annunciation circuits, fire detection systems, 125v control schemes; 24v, 48v and 125v battery systems and safety grounding
• Design extensive emergency shutdown, electrical process controls, local control panels, input/output database, conduit routing and instruments
• Design ladder diagrams for PLC programming
• Development of instrument specifications of control valves, pressure safety valves, pressure/flow instruments, in-line instruments and analyzer/chromatographs

Qualifications:
• BSEE, BSChE or BSME (P.E. preferred) with experience in application and specification of instrumentation and instrument systems for refineries.

  MECHANICAL ENGINEER – Petrochemical Refineries
Description:
Located at Petrochemical Refineries (Oil and Gas) throughout California (San Francisco, East Bay, Central Valley, Los Angeles, etc.)

Preparation, sizing, and checking of refinery project components and man hours in conjunction with submittals, data and drawings, including field checking and site inspection.
The Job:
• Development of P&ID diagrams
• Preparation of process equipment specifications and/or data sheets (pumps, control valves and instruments)
• Sizing of process vessels/evaluation of existing process equipment
• Sizing of pumps, compressors, valves, instrumentation and controls, and process piping
• Sizing of pressure safety relief valves
• Fluid flow analyses
• Hydraulic calculations
• Preparation of equipment data sheets, pump head, control valves
• Preparation of production equipment procurement specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations
• Preparation of project man hour and manpower estimates
• Checking of equipment vendor technical submittals, data and drawings
• Field checking, verification, site inspection and data gathering

Qualifications:
• BSME (P.E. preferred)
• 2-10 years of proven success in the design, specification, application and evaluation of equipment utilized in the petroleum, petrochemical and power industries
• Working knowledge and experience with applicable machinery standards and design codes
• PC Literate, MS/DOS/Windows, Excel, SAP, AutoCAD 14 or 2000 PRO E.

  ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – Power & Lighting
Description:
Petrochemical Refineries (Oil and Gas) - Located at numerous California locations (San Francisco, East Bay, Central Valley, Los Angeles, etc.)

Direct Development of diagrams, schedules, installation, calculations, loads, loop drops, wire runs, conduit schedules and physical installation -
The Job:
• Direct development of one line diagrams, elementary diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical portion of P&ID’s and loop diagrams, logic diagrams, wire run lists, conduit schedules, physical installation, assembly drawings, engineering calculations for electrical loads, voltage drops, conduit and conductor sizing of over current protection devices; drafting presentations, field verifications, liaison with other engineering vendors and customers

Qualifications:
• Requires a minimum BS in Electrical Engineering (P.E. license is a definite plus)
• 5 - 10 years of heavy industry experience (refining, petrochemical, power, etc.)
• Proven success with experience in application and specification of electrical and power systems for refineries. Diagrams, Calculations, and Layout - Responsible for designing one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wire pulling calculations and physical wiring diagrams, conduit sizing and routing (both exposed and embedded), terminations, splices, stress cones, voltage drop calculations, cable tray sizing and routing, and bills of material, grounding, and lighting level calculations
• Project engineering of substation, substation sizing, transformer sizing and protection, power distribution, controls, lighting, grounding, motor circuits, ladder logic wiring diagrams, fire and gas hazard alarm systems, communications and instrumentation. Including underground and aboveground utilities, emergency generators, UPS systems, O/U voltage monitoring and reporting, motor circuits, and load calculations
• Switchgear - Responsible for medium and high voltage switchgear selection, motor control center design, motor starters, current transformers, potential transformers; 13.8 KV, 4160v and 480v starter lineups
• Software - PC proficient: AutoCAD 14 or newer (2000 preferred), Windows, MS Word, Excel, appropriate Data Bases, PLC programming, E-tap, lighting programs, networks and data highways, accounting, etc.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship. TN Visas are acceptable.

  PIPING DESIGNER / ENGINEER Petrochemical Refinery
Description:
Locaated at Petrochemical Refineries (Oil and Gas)throughout California San Francisco, East Bay, Central Valley, Los Angeles, etc.)

The Job:
Design, using AutoCAD, Intergraph and/or Micro Station design software, study and modify piping components of piping systems and modify existing designs, coordinating with engineering and planning groups.

· Accumulating the necessary data, including reference drawings, field notes, measurements, determining Operations needs, equipment manufactures' data, etc. Prepares preliminary studies, layouts, working and detail drawings and diagrams

· Prepares alternative preliminary plans, as appropriate, together with economic evaluations, including possible layouts, material requirements, hookup with other refinery equipment etc., to obtain preliminary approvals

· Determines the manner of presentation after the final plan has been selected, including types of drawings required (isometric, etc.) selecting the number of drawings and diagrams required arrangements of details and views

· Performs necessary engineering calculations to determine design details, such as design of structural members; design of piping manifolds, including selection of valves and fittings; minimum calculation for piping stress, layout of switchboards and electrical circuits, layout of instrumentation; design of pressure vessels

· Ensure that completed design is functional, designed with safety and that all applicable codes have been followed and maintain

· Determining the locations of pumps, exchangers, furnaces, vessels, columns, etc., taking into account operating conditions and requirements, such as pressure drops, suction conditions, temperature ranges, etc.

· Assures compliance with refinery and OSHA safety requirements in the selecting, locating and hookup of equipment, allowing sufficient clearance, adequate passages, and in general organizing objectives space for efficient operations

· Directs the activities of up to four Drafters. Assigning suitable parts of the drafting project to them, and reviewing their work to produce the required drawings and to assure integration of the parts into the whole project

· Organizes all completed drawings and data into a comprehensive record for any given

Project

· Follows the project through field completion, implementing alterations of design and revisions of drawings accordingly

Qualifications:

· Minimum 3000 hours in the design of refinery/petrochemical facilities utilizing of AutoCAD, Intergraph and/or Micro Station design system

· Refinery Experience

· Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years design experience associated to the petrochemical field

· Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2004 or higher. Use of other computer-aided drafting software to produce/generate design and construction drawings

· A working knowledge of intelligent drafting software and their associate databases

· Computer literate in Microsoft Window system, MS Word, Excel, MS Access, etc.

· Aptitude for learning computer file management systems and a understanding of computer workstations as they pertain to work procedures, networks and file servers

· Able to work independent

· Good communication and people skills

· A mathematical background

· Strong problem solving and decision making skills

· Working knowledge of piping stress analysis as it is associated to piping design

· Moderate typing skills

  PLANNER SCHEDULER – Project Controls / Primavera
Description:
Located at Petrochemical Refineries (Oil and Gas) throughout California (San Francisco, East Bay, Central Valley, Los Angeles, etc.)

Preparing and maintaining the overall integrated, resource loaded Primavera project schedule to ensure optimization of resources and control of all associated project work. Located in San Francisco, East Bay, Central Valley / Bakersfield, and Los Angeles areas of CA
The Job:
• Works closely with Maintenance Turnaround Planner / Scheduler to integrate project work scope into detailed, resource loaded turnaround schedules.
• Participates in developing Work Breakdown Structure
• Responsible for developing Integrated CPM schedule which shows the sequence of events compatible with Work Breakdown Structure
• Coordinates schedule input from multiple contractors and CVX teams and incorporate the information gathered into the integrated schedule
• Prepares short-term look ahead schedules and leads the update in routine progress meetings
• Responsible for developing, measurement and reporting progress, including progress “S” curves
• Monitors and forecasts progress of activities in schedules by assessing or measuring physical progress in engineering and field construction. Highlight problem areas and recommend remedial actions
• Evaluates allocation of resources and provide recommendations to maintain required progress
• Forecasts monthly expenditures and work progress for the project
• Liaisons with all team leaders to communicate required completion dates and interfaces between responsible parties

Qualifications:
• Minimum. 10 yrs. experience planning, scheduling and with progress measurement of petroleum refining or petrochemical industry projects.

  ELECTRICAL DESIGNER – Power, Lighting, Instruments
Description:
Located at Petrochemical Refineries (Oil and Gas) throughout California (San Francisco, East Bay, Central Valley, Los Angeles, etc.)


Design and layout of electrical distribution systems in the petroleum refinery environment, including reading, drawing, and searching for filing system diagrams. MicroStation or AutoCAD proficiency. Located in San Francisco, East Bay, Central Valley / Bakersfield, and Los Angeles areas of California.
The Job:
• Design and layout of electrical distributions systems with the following:

Qualifications:
• Proficient in MicroStation or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software
• Five years experience with the design and layout of electrical distributions systems
• Familiar with the NEC
• Ability to size conduit and wire for low voltage lighting and motor circuits. (600 volts and less)
• Familiar with conduit fittings and materials required for motor control stations, instrument connections, etc.
• Field experience in the petroleum refinery environment and familiar with the use and care of personal safety equipment required
• Familiar with single-lines diagrams, P&ID's, panel schedules, motor schematics and connection diagrams
• Familiar with equipment including Motor Control Centers, starters, breakers, lighting panels, transformers
• Knowledgeable of drawing filing systems with experience performing drawing searches
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship. TN Visas are acceptable.
