Software Engineer, IBM Tivoli, MySQL
Functional Responsibility Description
Provides both depth and breadth of experience in network management tools, databases, and infrastructures, and has worked with a variety of large networks, systems, and applications.
Provides a high degree of interpersonal skill in working with various levels of technical and business-oriented individuals.
Leads in the technical analysis, design, and implementation of large-scale Enterprise Network Management Systems, Systems Management, and Application Management projects
Develops and articulates business, functional, and technical requirements for enterprise systems at varying levels of detail.
1. Candidate must have current IBM NetCool / Omnibus version 7+ experience
2. Candidate must have design, installation, configuration, administration, integration and event rules modification experience

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Has design and implementation experience with enterprise environments that emphasize the business integration of network management tools such as IBM Tivoli Netcool, HP OpenView, NetIQ AppManager
Has strong experience with IBM Tivoli Netcool solutions in a distributed environment. Has performed hands-on installation, configuration, and operation of two or more of the following IBM Tivoli Netcool applications:
o Tivoli Business Service Management (Formerly RAD)
o Tivoli Monitoring
o Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus (including probes and gateways)
o Tivoli Netcool/Webtop
o Tivoli Netcool/Impact
o Tivoli Network Manager IP Edition (Formerly Precision)
o Tivoli Provisioning Manager
o Tivoli Storage Manager
Has strong experience in UNIX (eg. Linux, Sun, IBM) and Microsoft Windows XP/Server 2003 infrastructures.
Has a deep working knowledge and understanding of network and management protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, and RMON.
Has a strong working knowledge of the SQL language, and database applications such as Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, and SQL Server.
Certification in IBM Tivoli Netcool Core is highly desired.
Experienced with developing supporting programs and scripts in Perl, AWK, C, Visual Basic, or Web services-based programming languages and methods (Java, HTML, XML) is a plus.
Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The Netcool Architect has training or equivalent experience in one or more of the following types of disciplines: engineering, computer science, computer systems, computer security, information systems or other related disciplines. The table below relates education and applicable experience with professional level.
