  Avionics System Engineer
Description:
Assist technicians in troubleshooting aircraft avionics system problems and determine whether the source of the snag is design related or component failure.
  • Create test definition sheets, review flight test plans and produce flight test reports to ensure that complete test requirements for TC/FAA/JAA certification are met safely.
  • Produce engineering documentation for design changes and work around in flight test environment, to ensure aircraft flight schedules are maintained. Provide system performance analysis to ensure that the system performs its intended function and meets the design specification.
  • BSEE (or equivalent degree or experience) plus 7 years experience in avionics systems design and troubleshooting.
  • A working knowledge of support aircraft ground, flight and functional testing is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A working knowledge of EFIS, FMS, Autopilot and Rockwell Collins Pro-Line 21 systems would be advantageous.
  • A working knowledge of aircraft electrical systems would also be advantageous.
  • Must have good communication skills both written and oral and be PC literate.
  • Must have strong knowledge of FAA Code of Federal Regulations Title 14 Part 25, 121 and 135.
  • Working knowledge of RTCA documents DO-178 and DO-160.
    Must be willing to work all shifts.

  • Integration of supplier components / systems into aircraft systems.
  • Co-ordination with component / system
    suppliers on designs and design development.

  • Prepare/ review component level and aircraft level test plans and provide analysis of results.

      Interiors DER
    Description:
    Support New Product Development

    -Completions Engineering Team in the review and approval of interior engineering data (including interior arrangements) in regards to major and minor changes to Learjet type design.
    -Review and approval of flammability test plans and reports, including witnessing testing as required.
    -Ensure Learjet type design complies with foreign certification requirements and review and approve process specifications relative to interior arrangements
    and flammability. Create certification plans and support the creation of compliance statements in support of major projects. Provide guidance and training relative to the regulatory requirements.
    -Provide solutions to issues arising during certification projects and provide status to

    Management on these key issues.
    -Coordination of component/system suppliers on designs and design development.
    -A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline preferred. A minimum of 10+ years experience in aerospace engineering integration and design.
    -Consultant DER in good standing with the FAA preferred.
    -A thorough understanding of the Part 25 certification process (TC & STC), regulations, orders, notices and policies.
    -Must have working knowledge of FAA code of Federal Regulations Title 14 Part 21, 91 and 135.
    -A thorough working knowledge of foreign certification regulations (JAR 25 and JAR 26).
    -Must be fluent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    -All other computer systems and software are an advantage.
    -Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    -Must work well within a team environment and interface effectively with all levels of team members and management.
    -Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple projects with dynamic due dates.
